What this job involves:

JLL Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Lead CRO to oversee our Facilities Operations Center team and provide advanced technical leadership for 24/7 monitoring and support of building systems and technology infrastructure across our commercial real estate portfolio. The successful candidate will lead a team of NOC operators while serving as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues involving building automation systems, and critical facility operations that support exceptional tenant experience.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of Control Room Operators across 24/7 operations. Manage performance, coaching, scheduling, and training while fostering a collaborative environment focused on operational excellence and tenant satisfaction.
  • Advanced Technical Operations: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex building system issues. Lead root cause analysis, provide technical guidance on building automation systems, and oversee integration of new technologies and system upgrades.
  • Process Development & Optimization: Develop and refine SOPs, create technical documentation, and identify automation opportunities. Establish KPIs and SLAs while leading continuous improvement initiatives and coordinating preventive maintenance programs.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Interface with property management, tenants, and senior leadership during critical incidents. Prepare operational reports, participate in client meetings as subject matter expert, and represent facilities operations in cross-functional projects.
  • Emergency Response & Crisis Management: Lead emergency response coordination during critical system failures. Coordinate with first responders and property teams, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct post-incident reviews, and support business continuity planning.
  • Strategic Planning & Innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance building operations. Support sustainability initiatives, participate in budget planning, and lead pilot programs for new building technologies and monitoring solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms and facilities management software
  • Knowledge of access control, fire safety, and security systems
  • Understanding of energy management systems and sustainability practices
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance programs
  • Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams
  • Experience with performance management and employee development
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
  • Experience with budget management and vendor relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mission-critical facility operations (data centers, healthcare, financial services)
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (fire codes, safety standards, accessibility)
  • Experience with cloud-based building management platforms and remote monitoring
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles for building systems and IoT devices
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification
  • Experience with large-scale system implementations and change management

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

Work Shift: Standard business hours with flexible scheduling and 24/7 on-call responsibilities

Travel: Occasional travel to other facilities or vendor locations
