 The OTR Driver will operate commercial truck/trailer, tractor trailer or combination vehicle (a vehicle that weighs over 26,001 lbs.) that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A to pick-up and deliver parcels. AIT/ Spur Drivers are responsible for safely and accurately deliver and pickup cargo, keep accurate driving log- ELD and for inspect and maintain the company trucks.Responsibilities
 
 
     Drive truck to and from specified destinations safely and follow all state, local laws, and DOT regulations Focuses on safety and compliance including the real time reporting of any accidents, incidents encountered on the road, monitoring of road conditions and following all applicable traffic lawsHandles general fleet maintenance including appropriate fueling, cleaning of truck, washing of windows, full inspection of truck before and after trip and proactive reporting of any maintenance needsPrepare receipt for load picked up or bill of ladingMaintain driver hours of service using electronics logs and ensures rest periods according to state and federal regulationsMaintains and ensures compliance with DOT and other applicable regulations, including State or Federal regulationsProvides timely communication with supervisor/ manager regarding the status of daily route; including, when stops have been completed, when taking lunch or other brakes, and prior to clocking outEnsures timeliness of client delivery by proactively anticipating any delivery challenges and ensuring timely departureInspect truck equipment and supplies. Ensure time, date, verification, and signature on all freight paperworkPerform emergency roadside repairs, secure cargo with proper equipment; load bars, e-track, and straps during transitMay load and unload truck when not driving the truckMay operate a forklift or pallet jack when not driving the truckDestination may be either Short Haul or Long HaulMaintain a clean work environment and follow safety policiesQualifications

     CDL - Group A - Commercial Drivers License - Must have a valid CDL A to drive a truck 26,001 lbs. or greaterMust be a TSA-certified truck driver and obtain a STA numberMaintain a current Department of Transportation Medical CardHave an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)Be able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and road testCargo screening is required if driving in CANo more than three (3) moving violations in the past 36 months (or combination of two (2) moving violations previous 12 months. Moving violations include seatbelt and cell phone violationsNo preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene, or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within three yearsHas no conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs violation within the past seven (7) years About AIT Worldwide
