| JOPES Specialist 
 Position Summary:
 
 As a JOPES Specialist, you will be responsible for coordination and execution of deployment, redeployment, and rotation of forces using the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES). This role ensures accurate documentation of deployment plans and movement requirements, maintains technical expertise in JOPES and related systems, and serves as a subject matter expert in automated planning processes supporting Department of Defense (DoD) contingency and crisis action planning.

 Must have an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
 
 Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 Oversee and execute deployment, redeployment, and rotation of forces, ensuring all movement requirements are accurately documented in JOPES.Maintain detailed working knowledge of the JOPES database, supporting systems, command roles and relationships, joint and component policy, operational procedures, directives, communications, and related ADP specifications.Serve as SME and civilian staff authority for automated planning processes in JOPES and related planning and deployment execution systems.Provide continuity in the analysis and implementation of improvements to command control procedures and methods.Extract and analyze critical information from global force management systems, manage rotational and emergent requirements in JOPES.Participate as a member of joint planning groups and operational planning teams supporting crisis operations; provide continuous review, analysis, and monitoring of programs, policies, guidance, and systems administration.Offer technical advice and assistance to functional elements outside the mobility division, including future planning elements involved in movement requirements development, planning, and reporting.Assess requirements for and participate in the development of computer programs to meet unique user needs, including data retrieval, manipulation, and input utilities.Evaluate the impact of changing technology on current and future planning system applications; serve as SME for next-generation global command and control systems (GCCS) and JOPES systems as they are developed, tested, and fielded.Perform other related duties as assigned.
 Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
 
 
 
 Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., logistics, operations, information systems, or related discipline)5 years of experience in military operations planning, deployment/redeployment coordination, or related rolesDemonstrated expertise in using and managing the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES)Strong understanding of DoD contingency and crisis action planning processes and policiesExperience with global force management (GFM) systemsProficiency in database management and automated data processing (ADP) specificationsAbility to analyze and document deployment plans and movement requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively as part of joint planning groups and operational planning teams
 Preferred Qualifications
 
 
 
 Advanced degree (Master's or higher) in logistics, operations, information systems, or related fieldExperience supporting joint or component command operationsFamiliarity with next-generation global command and control systems (GCCS)Prior experience developing or assessing computer programs for planning system applicationsExperience providing technical advice and assistance to cross-functional teamsActive security clearance (Secret or higher)Experience with process improvement initiatives in a military or government environmentKnowledge of rotational and emergent requirements management in JOPESExperience with systems testing and fielding in DoD environments
