| Job Objective: The Corps Ministry Aide will participate in the holistic ministry and mission of The Salvation Army Southland Corps. This may require adjustments to current duties and responsibilities as Corps objectives are implemented, and/or programming needs and priorities change.  Essential Functions:  
 
 
 Participate in worship and Christian education programs (Sunday School, Bible Studies, Corps Cadets, Small Groups, etc.) including planning, leading meetings, preaching, teaching, and supporting others in those roles 
 
 
 Participate in development, implementation and coordination of corps programming, worship arts, music programs, special programming (VBS, Day Camps, Outreaches), Character Building and Leadership Training for corps members as assigned 
 
 
 Participate in the development and implementation of Corps vision objectives, community center, and social ministries 
 
 
 Participate in coordination and implementation of seasonal programs including Christmas, Summer Camping Program, and other special events 
 
 
 Represent the Army at community events including, but not limited to, service clubs, committee participation, school functions, and Ministerial Associations 
 
 
 Participate in pastoral and evangelistic ministries, Pastoral Care, Corps Advisory Council, and Youth and Adult Planning Committees 
 
 
 Ensure compliance with Safe From Harm requirements for all Corps Staff and volunteers 
 
 
 Participate in organizing and facilitating Safe From Harm training for the Corps 
 
 
 Participate in organizing, and facilitating Soldier Classes 
 
 
 Organize, and facilitate adult fellowship activities 
 
 
 Identify and encourage individuals with leadership potential to meet current and future Corps leadership needs 
 
 
 Provide individual spiritual guidance when needed 
 
 
 Work cooperatively with staff, clients, agencies, and other stakeholders to provide high quality service 
 
 
 Participate in achieving corps financial goals by managing expenses and supporting fund-raising efforts 
 
 
 Assist with maintenance of Corps financial records 
 
 
 Count, record, and deposit donations and other receivables 
 
 
 Update, grow, and maintain Corps Social Media platforms 
 
 
 Assist with Kettle Campaign by driving, counting money and leading devotions & prayer 
 
 
 Assist with Angel Tree applications, toy collection, and distribution 
 
 
 Other duties as assigned by Corps Officer 
 
 
 Minimum Qualifications:   Education: Minimum associate's degree or graduate of a Christian seminary program; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education qualification   Experience: Minimum one year in full-time ministry.  Because this is a ministry position, applicant must be a Soldier in good standing in The Salvation Army.  Certifications/Licenses: SFH Trainer Certification (or must successfully complete first available training after hire)  Skills/Abilities:   
 
 
 Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and doctrine

 Knowledge of principles and practices of The Salvation Army- preservation of its mission and doctrine 
 
 
 Adaptable in culturally diverse environments, and respectful of cultural differences 
 
 
 Knowledge of the principles and practices of various types of ministries and program development 
 
 
 Ability to effectively respond to emergency situations during and outside of normal business hours 
 
 
 Knowledge of effective writing and editing techniques and practices 
 
 
 Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials 
 
 
 Ability to speak, read and write English in a manner that is sufficient for clear communication 
 
 
 Ability to understand accounting terminology and concepts 
 
 
 Ability to be non-judgmental in approach and treating all with dignity and respect 
 
 
 Maintain confidentiality of information obtained from clients, Booth Manor residents and Corps Members 
 
 
 Knowledgeable in social media 
 
 
 Willingness to work the hours necessary to achieve job essential functions and Corps objectives as an exempted employee 
 
 
 Supervisory Responsibility: None  Physical Requirements: Include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting on an intermittent or occasional basis; grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting objects up to 25 lbs.; reaching overhead. Driving: Driving is required; must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence, maintain insurance, and meet and maintain "qualified driver" status through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.  Working Conditions: Work is performed in a Corps office setting and in the community; work outside of normal business hours is required.  Note: This is two-year position from date of hire.
