Position: Physical Therapist Assistant
• Type: Full-time
• Location: 1030 W. Highland Road, Howell, MI 48843

Who we are looking for:

• Provide 1:1 patient care in 60-minute treatment sessions, focusing on functional rehabilitation for adults with neurological injuries
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of passionate, skilled therapists (PT/OT/SLP/COTA/PTA) to focus on patient-centered outcomes
• Provide personalized care in an innovative outpatient setting utilizing the latest technology

What you will do: Including but not limited to

• Assist patients in exercise, ambulation, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices
• Assist Physical Therapists in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
• Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities
• Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development

What you will need:

• Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from a CAPTE-accredited college or university
• Current, unrestricted license as Physical Therapist Assistant by state in which practicing
• Current Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification in accordance with state regulations
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury rehabilitation techniques
• Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/ standing for extended periods
• Additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times
