Communication Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a Strategic Communication Specialist, you will support senior leaders by developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies, plans, and products tailored for internal and external audiences across various classification levels. Your role involves creating recurring deliverables such as briefings, talking points, leadership messaging, weekly activity reports, articles, and year-in-review documents, as well as managing multimedia projects and special initiatives. You will demonstrate expertise in collaborating with senior executives, ensuring attention to detail, and delivering messaging that is both creative and impactful.

At the core of your work is content development-crafting compelling narratives for digital platforms, optimizing web content to meet strategic objectives, and leveraging performance data to refine outreach efforts. You understand that effective digital communication is about influencing and engaging audiences, not just publishing information.

You'll bring your passion for storytelling, a keen eye for detail, and a data-driven mindset. You will bring both creative and analytical strengths to help shape content strategies that align with mission objectives, enhance audience engagement, and deliver measurable results. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to modernizing how government and mission-focused organizations utilize digital channels-including web and social media-to inform, inspire, and lead.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience working directly with senior stakeholders
  • 4+ years of experience creating strategic communications plans to communicate organizational strategies
  • Experience compiling and editing reports, drafting speeches, creating briefs and presentations, and preparing leaders for events and engagements
  • Experience developing and maintaining editorial calendarsand coordinating across teams
  • Experience working with leaders in the DoD and its components
  • Ability to interpret data to optimize content performanceand drive engagement, and be a storyteller and adapt tone, voice, and message to different audiences and platforms
  • Ability to track tasks and due dates and help keep a team on delivery schedule
  • Ability to multitask, balance multiple workstreams, and work collaboratively across teams
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience with strategic communications plans, or Master's degree and 6+ years of experience with strategic communications plans

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
