 Job Summary
  We are seeking a hands-on and safety-conscious Fabrication Technician to join our plastics fabrication shop. This position involves cutting, assembling, and welding a wide range of plastic fittings, structures, and components used in municipal, industrial, and commercial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Job Responsibilities 
 
  
 
 Saw, fabricate, and assemble various sizes and types of plastic fittings, structures, and fabrications according to project specifications 
 
 Operate hand tools and power equipment, including hydraulic fusion welding machines, chain saws, band saws, radial arm saws, reciprocating saws, and grinders 
 
 Perform extrusion or fusion welding of plastic materials (training provided) 
 
 Lift, carry, and maneuver pipes, fittings, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more as needed 
 
 Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and fabrication layouts accurately 
 
 Measure and cut materials precisely, maintaining accuracy within 1/8 inch (tape measure test required) 
 
 Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently 
 
 Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times 
 
 Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met 
 
 Work independently or collaboratively depending on project requirements 
 
 Be punctual, dependable, and willing to work overtime as required

 Mechanical or construction experience required 
 
 Ability to read and interpret blueprints or fabrication drawings 
 
 Proficient in reading a tape measure and performing basic unit conversions (feet to inches) 
 
 Basic math skills for layout and dimension verification 
 
 General computer skills preferred 
 
 Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately 
 
 Physically able to lift, load, and maneuver heavy materials and operate fabrication tools safely 
 
 Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and teamwork 
 
 Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving production needs 
  
  
 
 
Education 
 
  
 
 High school diploma or equivalent required 
 
 Technical or vocational training in mechanical, construction, or welding fields preferred 
  
  
 
 
Work Experience 
 
  
 
 Prior experience in fabrication, construction, or mechanical assembly required 
 
 Experience in plastic fabrication or welding is a plus (training available)
