 Position Overview
  We are seeking a dependable and professional Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) to join our healthcare team. The PSR I represents the face of the organization, ensuring a positive and reassuring patient experience while performing high-quality specimen collections. This role is responsible for drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and confidentiality standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong phlebotomy skills, excellent attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care. Job Responsibilities 
 
  
 
 Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately, efficiently, and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor 
 
 Draw quality blood samples from patients-including pediatric and geriatric populations-while following established procedures and safety protocols 
 
 Accurately label, document, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing to maintain sample integrity 
 
 Create a professional, caring environment by explaining procedures clearly and ensuring patient comfort 
 
 Maintain required records and documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards 
 
 Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe and professional work environment 
 
 Demonstrate strong organizational skills and commitment to accuracy and timeliness 
 
 Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and supervisors to ensure workflow efficiency 
 
 Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, colleagues, and the general public 
 
 Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required 
  
  
 
 
Job Requirements 
 
  
 
 Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment 
 
 Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience 
 
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
 
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service 
 
 Reliable and punctual with excellent attention to detail 
 
 Proficient in computer systems and data entry 
 
 Flexibility to adjust schedule based on staffing needs, including on-call or overtime assignments 
  
  
 
 
Education 
 
  
 
 High school diploma or equivalent required 
 
 Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred 
 
 Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington) 
  
  
 
 
Work Experience 
 
  
 
 Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1 or more years preferred 
 
 Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred 
 
 Demonstrated keyboarding and data entry proficiency required
