Schmidt Construction Company, part of the The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Plant Operator to work at our Menzer Quarry location in Colorado Springs, CO. The Plant Operator is responsible for plant operations and maintenance for crushers, screens and conveyors. Pay: $25-31/hr Shift: Day Shift 6am-4pm Benefits Competitive pay Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement Comprehensive Benefit Plan Development Opportunities Responsibilities The Mobile Equipment and Plant Operator will: Preforming pre-operation plant inspections Ensuring and preforming maintenance and repairs as needed Start and run aggregate plant (crushers, screens, and conveyors) Determining proper settings for crusher and feeder Determining type of product to produce Mixing material to desired consistency Monitoring and maintaining air emissions Communicating with plant personnel Maintaining cleanliness of equipment Maintaining records and logs Monitoring plant to ensure proper operation Checking stockpiles to ensure product quality Performing proper shut down procedures Maintaining housekeeping of yard and plant Complying with all safety regulations and policies Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisor Skills The ideal candidate will have: Knowledge of materials Knowledge of plant equipment and conveyor systems Ability to operate rock plant Ability to identify mechanical malfunctions Good communication and radio skills Ability to follow proper safety procedures and site rules Lifting up to 50 pounds Sitting, standing, walking for extended period. Climbing Working outside for extended periods of time Ability to work at elevated heights Good eye-hand coordination To Apply Please submit your resume.
