Position Summary |
This is a research ultrasound position - to perform and/or annotate prenatal ultrasounds as part of a research study. Responsibility is to any of the specific projects undertaken by the Global Health Division. There will be several protocols that will start and evolve over time. Use of an ultrasound machine and various other
FDA approved devices for the purpose of capturing prenatal images are the main purpose of this role. The position includes patient recruitment, consenting, performance of a prenatal ultrasound for research purposes, data collection and organization. The person in this position must be able to multitask and learn new procedures according to the protocol. This multi-site project will focus on recruiting pregnant women early in their first trimester to participate in a randomized trial of ultrasound follow-up exams to increase the information gathered in a previous trial. We will be comparing our research ultrasounds, including novice scans with a hand-held probe, to those obtained by a certified sonographer. The candidate will also be responsible for additional research-related responsibilities as needed by the research team. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Associate's degree in medical sonography, cardio/vascular sonography, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Must be expert in MS Office; very strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to work independently; must be able to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines and apply those guidelines appropriately, must be skilled in organizing workflow and coordinating multiple priorities. |
