Hygiene Laborer

Position Overview:
Hygiene Operators support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives by preventing hazardous elements from accumulating outside of restricted areas. This position is responsible for janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, trash removal and clean-up in restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, and common facility areas. Operators are also assigned to desanitize respirator equipment and launder PPE. This position may be assigned to work day shift or night shift, and may be scheduled for 8 hour or 12-hour shifts as determined by management.

Responsibilities:

• Taking direction from Team Leader and upper management
• Sweeping, mopping, trash removal and clean-up of restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms and other assigned areas.
• Assist in management of coverall and other personal protective equipment (PPE) cleaning programs
• Desanitization and cleaning of personal protective equipment including respirators, PAPR units, dirty clothes, and towels
• Preparing, distributing and re-filling drink coolers
• Following all SOP's (standard operating procedures) exactly as intended
• Participating in required training as well as Safety Meetings and other programs
• Notifying management (and possibly Engineering) of any mechanical and/or operational problems
• Safely operating heavy equipment (training provided)
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Proficient in English language communication (reading, writing and speaking) and basic math
• Passing of all pre-employment requirements which includes:




• Criminal background check
• Employment and academic verifications
• Drug/alcohol screen & comprehensive physical




• Previous work experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the essential duties of this position, you will be exposed to machinery, mobile equipment, high noise levels, extremely hot temperatures, and chemicals
• Medically able to wear respiratory protection up to 12 hours a day with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) up to 12 hours per day (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, hearing protection, and respirator mask) with or without reasonable accommodation
