POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education (AESE) in the College of Agricultural Sciences seeks a self-directed and flexible person to provide support for its graduate programs. The person in this position will provide administrative support to three graduate programs in the department and work closely with three graduate directors. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the graduate admissions process.

  • Communicate with applicants, prepare application information for the graduate committees, maintain student files.

  • Schedule, track, and coordinate exams with the Graduate School.

  • Use LionPATH to perform academic actions for students and faculty.

  • Maintain department student records.

  • Collect data and process information for fellowship nominations and awards.

  • Organize/attend orientation for new graduate students to the department.

  • Track progress of required training for graduate students.

  • Responsible for maintenance of the graduate programs portion of the department website, various databases, listservs, and updates to the department graduate handbook.

  • Process assistantship appointments and assignments in WorkLion.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Qualifications:

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software packages.

  • Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

  • Graduate program experience preferred but not required.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
