Job Description - Renewable Energy Program Coordinator l, ll, Senior, Lead

Position Description
The Renewable Energy Program Coordinator will provide program management support for the Commercial and Residential Renewable program for Tucson Electric Power (TEP). These programs are part of larger efforts related to the implementation of TEP's Renewable Energy Standard and Tariff, as well as the Company's. The Renewable Energy Program Coordinator will be an employee of TEP, based in Tucson, AZ.

Position-Related Responsibilities
Combined position responsibilities:

  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
  • Report regularly to Supervisor on status of activities.
  • Travel as required to local, regional and/or national conferences and workshops to stay current on best practices and awareness in conservation, demand side management, demand response, distributed energy resources and renewable energy.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate with management, peers, and stakeholders regarding marketing, implementation of programs and defined business processes.
  • Analyzes business process to ensure a high level of customer service to both external and internal stakeholders.
    Perform other assignments as requested.

Program Coordinator l:

  • Responsibilities as a level l
    • Performs job responsibilities and manages minimally complex projects with oversight and/or guidance.
    • Effectively work in a team environment and independently under direct supervision as needed.
    • Takes initiative to grow in functional knowledge.
    • Provide regular activity status reports provided as requested.
    • Performs Application Review to ensure submitted projects meet DGIR (Distributed Generation Interconnection Rules) timelines and follows developed business processes.
    • Executes lower-level e-mail communications to installers and customers to ensure projects remain on track.
    • Assists in the advancement of projects performing project documentation in Work Management Systems.
    • Participates in billing preparation as well as ACC Reporting performing thorough project closure review.
    • Performs agreement filing in Document Management Systems.

Program Coordinator ll:

  • Responsibilities as a level ll
  • Responsibilities of a Program Coordinator l along with:
    • Performs job responsibilities and manages moderately complex projects with some oversight and/or guidance.
    • Maintains project closure oversight to assist Lead Coordinator in ACC monthly numbers.
    • Effectively work in a team environment and independently with little supervision.
    • Performs, if needed, review of DG (Distributed Generation) applications ensuring DGIR requirements.
    • Executes mid-level customer and installer communications via e-mail maintaining established customer centric tone.
    • Handling more medium level customer issues, participating in problem solving and business process creation if needed.
    • Reviews completed projects with oversight by Coordinator III Maintains responsibility and oversight for Agreement filing in Document Management Systems.
    • Participates along with work group on departmental goal development.

Program Coordinator Senior:

  • Responsibilities as a level Senior
  • Responsibilities of a Program Coordinator ll along with:
    • Performs job responsibilities and manages highly complex projects with minimal oversight and/or guidance.
    • Effectively work in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision, self-directed.
    • Proficient in all steps of the application process.
    • Participates along with the Lead Program Coordinator in the planning of updates and changes to the workflow, customer communications, etc.
    • Participates in the coordination of Stakeholder Groups to move forward departmental initiatives tied to the customer experience.
    • Reviews with leadership, trends in the industry as well as the day-to-day business that impact customer and/or employee experience working with the department.
    • Collaborates with Stakeholder Groups in mutual training experiences.
    • Assists with management of residential/commercial customer relations and contact via phone and email correspondence for the residential/commercial renewable program processes. Processes complex customer issues received via e-mail and/or through the complaint intake process.
    • Maintains responsibility for the survey process and participates in the review and recommendation of business processes to address customer concerns.
    • Maintain residential/commercial customer renewable contracts, record keeping, and credit tracking.

Lead Program Coordinator :

  • Responsibilities as a Lead level
  • Responsibilities as a Program Coordinator Senior along with:
    • Performs job duties and manages projects with minimal to no oversight and/or guidance.
    • Effectively work in a team environment and independently without supervision, self-directed.
    • Coordinates work and provides subject matter guidance to team members.
    • Responsible for providing status reports on Program Coordinator projects to management.
    • Coordinates related team efforts and resources to achieve objectives.
    • Generates new solutions to complex problems.
    • Collaborates with stakeholder groups in order to create and implement training.
    • Top level individual contributor who leads multiple projects and assists with any issues that may arise. Considered subject matter expert.
    • Delegates tasks to ensure appropriate execution and completion. Acts as quality assurance for meeting timelines and expectations.
    • Furthers updates needed to workflow or communication by working with Stakeholders, Renewable Coordinators, and/or meeting with Arizona utilities.
    • Responsibility for review of website content reviewed and discussed with Coordinator group based on survey results and/or business trends.
    • Ensure proper accounting and cost recovery for programs and manage budgets, program savings and tracking database. Ensure complete operational compliance under existing and new program implementation.
    • Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual reports and respond to questions from regulatory agencies such as the Arizona Corporation Commission related to the renewable energy programs, as needed for TEP.
    • Assist with the development, prioritization and program management of the residential and commercial Renewable Programs for TEP to ensure program goals and milestones are met.
    • Provide oversight, guidance and resources for the day-to-day work of Project Coordinators.
    • Assist and support Supervisor in employee development and performance for the Project Coordinators.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
(Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
Level I
Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one year of relevant experience in the utility or related industry.
  • Exhibit administrative competence and critical thinking skills with strong background in processing accurate and timely work product.
  • Proficiency in PC computer skills & applications including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, public speaking, strong presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Business or related field
  • Knowledge of Renewable Energy Programs with at least one year of relevant experience.

Level II
Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two years' experience as a Program Coordinator l or equivalent or four years of relevant experience in the utility or related industry.
  • Intermediate knowledge of residential / commercial Renewable Energy Programs and the front-end processing of DG applications.
  • Ability to process high level of work without error, possessing critical and analytical thinking.
  • Proficiency in PC computer skills & applications including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, public speaking, strong presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Business or related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Distributed Generation Interconnection Rules

Senior
Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two years' experience as a Program Coordinator ll or equivalent or six years relevant experience in the utility or related industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of residential / commercial Renewable Energy Programs and the processing functions of DG application review from start to end of project.
  • Advanced knowledge of Distributed Generation Interconnection Rules.
  • Proficiency in PC computer skills & applications including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, public speaking, strong presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Business or related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Renewable Energy Standards and Tariff Requirements & Reporting

Lead
Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two years' experience as a Program Coordinator lll or equivalent or eight years of relevant experience in the utility or related industry.
  • Advance skills and expertise in program processing, procedures, and systems.
  • Expert knowledge of residential / commercial Renewable Energy Programs.
  • Expert knowledge of Distributed Generation Interconnection Rules
  • Advanced knowledge of Renewable Energy Standards and Tariff Requirements & Reporting
  • Proficiency in PC computer skills & applications including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, public speaking, strong presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Business or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of related teams and resources

Pay Rate: Salary determined based on candidates experience and qualifications.
