The Training Coordinator develops, manages, and oversees the Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP) training program, ensuring all staff complete the required NCEM and FEMA trainings. This role organizes training cohorts, develops curriculum, tracks staff certifications, and engages specialized trainers, including those focusing on disability inclusion. The Training Coordinator ensures compliance with program guidelines, including the 14-day curriculum submission requirement.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Training Coordinator: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Training Coordinator Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive training curriculum covering Disaster Case Management, HIPAA compliance, privacy/confidentiality, data security, policies/procedures, and FEMA/NCEM reporting requirements
  • Organize and schedule training cohorts, ensuring timely completion of required courses.
  • Design, update, and implement curriculum in alignment with NCEM and FEMA standards.
  • Track staff training progress, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with external trainers and subject matter experts, including disability inclusion specialists.
  • Ensure all curriculum materials are submitted in compliance with the 14-day submission requirement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain training records and generate reports for program leadership.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff regarding training requirements and resources.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Training Coordinator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in training design and delivery, preferably in disaster recovery, social services, or federally funded programs.
  • Certifications (Preferred)
    • Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP).
    • FEMA instructor training.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple training cohorts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for curriculum development and training delivery.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Ability to track and report staff training progress effectively.
  • Experience coordinating with external trainers and subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

The Training Coordinator must meet all North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) personnel requirements to be eligible for assignment under this contract.

Background Investigation: Candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire.

Disclosures: Candidate must not have any felony convictions or convictions involving fraud, misappropriation, deception, or moral turpitude. Any regulatory sanctions, pending investigations, or civil litigation within the last three years must be disclosed as part of the vetting process.
