 Job Summary
  The Motor Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing wheeled vehicles and associated systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and readiness. This role supports operational and tactical vehicle maintenance needs, providing hands-on technical expertise in both shop and field environments. Job Responsibilities 
 
  
 
 Conduct routine and scheduled inspections of wheeled vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues 
 
 Utilize diagnostic tools and software to assess and troubleshoot vehicle systems 
 
 Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and filter replacements 
 
 Maintain accurate service records and ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards 
 
 Repair or replace major components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, axles, and suspension systems 
 
 Conduct overhauls and rebuilds of vehicle systems as required 
 
 Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including lighting, ignition, and charging components 
 
 Replace or repair batteries, alternators, and wiring harnesses 
 
 Inspect, rotate, and replace tires, performing wheel alignment and balancing as needed 
 
 Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including brakes, steering, and lift mechanisms 
 
 Provide field maintenance and mobile repair support when necessary, including recovery and towing of disabled vehicles 
 
 Adhere to all safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times 
 
 Ensure compliance with environmental, operational, and safety regulations 
 
 Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in proper condition and assist with parts and inventory management 
  
  
 
 
Job Requirements 
 
  
 
 U.S. citizenship required 
 
 Active Secret Security Clearance required 
 
 High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred 
 
 Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic in military or civilian settings 
 
 Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic procedures 
 
 Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides 
 
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail 
 
 Valid driver's license required; CDL or military vehicle operator's license preferred
