The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The Coordinator is responsible for the planning and coordination of campus dining, catering and events (i.e., North Little Rock, South Location, Business and Industry Center, and North Little Rock Aviation Location) under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of CAHMI. This includes daily food service at both North Little Rock and South locations, as well as the Catering activities of Campus Dining. The Coordinator ensures customer service/satisfaction with efficient cost-effective management. The primary office of the Coordinator is at the North Little Rock campus. Travel is required but not limited to the South Location, Business and Industry Center, and North Little Rock Aviation Location.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: *Plan multiple types of events to include daily food service to the North Little Rock and South Campuses, as well as scheduled catering events at all locations. *Supervise the planning and coordinating of menus for the catering of events on all campus locations. *Maintain high standards of service, quality control, hygiene, and health and safety for catering and campus dining cafes. *Work night and weekend shifts involving a flexible work schedule to accommodate events. *Assist Director and Sous Chefs to maintain systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of all food and related items for all campus dining operations. *Collaborate with the Director and Sous Chefs with assessing and monitoring controls in regard to food and labor costs for efficient food service delivery for events and all food services. *Manage point-of-sale, food production recipes and inventory software systems, with recipe costing and published menus for campus dining. *Supervise weekly inventories for all catering supplies and maintain records that comply with applicable UA-PTC and government policies. *Schedule, supervise, train and evaluate catering and front-of-house employees for campus dining, including work-study and practicum students as assigned. Monitor and approve hours, absences, and leave. *Utilize company systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as requisitions, inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/timekeeping, etc. *Prepare quotes, contracts, invoices and schedules for catering, room rentals, audio visual, room setup, and post event cleaning.for North Little Rock, South Little Rock, BIC and CAHMI campuses. *Ensure clients are contacted to update and confirm details to finalize BEOs (Banquet Event Orders); maintains account files and ensures all information is included. *Ensure that all events/meetings are correctly set-with floor plans for weekly events and prepared event/banquet staff. Maintains service equipment, labels and decorations for events. *Coordinates with Facilities Management, Information Technology Services, CHARTS, and other functional areas to provide full service hospitality, set-up details and post event cleaning. *Establish MOUs and legal contracts when needed to facilitate all legal requirements for events, camps, and conferences involving children, individuals with physical limitations, and other unique participants. *Organize marketing activities, such as promotional events and other community engagement opportunities. *Cultivate strong client relationships/partnerships, ensuring client satisfaction. Respond to customer recommendations and/or complaints. *Must possess professional verbal and written communication skills, be organized and detail oriented, be flexible and adapt to change *Assist the Director in all ways necessary to grow and maintain the reputation of CAHMI and UA-PTC by promoting the goals of the school both internally and externally *Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College *Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
