Position Title: Weld Supervisor
Wage: $35-$38/hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 2pm-10pm QPS is looking for a 2nd shift Weld Supervisor for a client in Waukesha, WI. If you have a positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as a team, we would like to talk with you! Weld Supervisor Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Execute all tasks safely and responsibly - Plan production activities and manage inventory to enhance production outcomes and maintain high quality - Provide leadership, coaching, training, and development to staff - Take part in interviewing and selecting employees - Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions, attendance, and time tracking - Ensure departmental goals across safety, quality, productivity, utilization, cost, and delivery metrics are met - Foster an environment of trust and positive morale - Develop, implement, and maintain detailed production plans and departmental milestones - Establish and uphold daily standard work protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) - Lead root cause analyses and corrective action initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies - Conduct Gemba walks, provide feedback, and mentor emerging leaders to enhance operational performance - Champion continuous improvement projects and support Kaizen events Weld Supervisor Requirements: - High school diploma required; technical degree or welding certifications are preferred - Proficient in blueprint reading - Solid background in metal fabrication and welding techniques, including hardwire, metal-core, flux-core, and submerged arc welding (sub-arc), as well as experience with large open-table setups - Thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and can manage multiple concurrent projects - Proven supervisory experience is a must - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
