The Salvation Army Gateway Corps located in St. Louis, MO, is looking for a Kettle Coordinator. This position is responsible for the Christmas Bell Ringing/Kettle program, including scheduling, placement, monitoring of Bell Ringer/Kettle workers, delivery, returning, and securing of Christmas kettles. This effort will require close working relationship with other Corps staff.

This is a Full-time seasonal position (10/01/2025-01/16/2026), up to 40 hours per week with starting pay of $15.00 per hour.

Essential Functions



  1. Supervise, recruit, screen, and assist with hiring all paid Bell Ringer staff to include preparing hiring packets and conducting Bell Ringer Orientations.
  2. Check on possible new kettle and counter kettle sites.
  3. Coordinate delivery of kettle equipment to and from kettle sites.
  4. Visit with all location managers, identify yourself and arrange location of kettle drop off and pick up.
  5. Ensure that all kettle locations are being manned. Coordinate all paid workers and volunteers. Schedule and notify kettle workers and volunteers of their assignments.
  6. Check that all bell ringers are clean and presentable.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent, with one year work experience and some supervisory experience. Combination of training and work experience will be considered. Management skills and the ability to work with volunteer staff are needed. Must have an appropriate driver's license and pass TSA MVR check.

Knowledge of

Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write reports. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to present information in high stress situations. Ability to read common sense understanding to carry out and relay instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical and Working Conditions

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Some work will be outdoors, and it will be cold. Must be capable of lifting 20 pounds and sometimes up to 40 pounds.
