Summary: Responsible for inspecting finished goods pallets and applying the correct licenses plate for transport to the warehouse for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position reports directly to the Bar Code Supervisor and will receive direction from the Bar Code Manager or Acting Supervisor in the absence of or in conjunction with the Bar Code Supervisor.

The primary responsibility of the Bar Code Transfer Specialist (AX Checker) is to safely and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties daily which include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Perform periodic quality checks during production.
  • Be familiar with the quality aspects of a full pallet of product.
  • Inspection of the pallet for the right labels on the boxes, the right number of boxes on the pallet and on the right size pallet.
  • Pull pallets to wrapper area for shrink-wrapping.
  • Use the AX system to report finished production in a timely manner.
  • Able to verify LP information is correct in the AX system.
  • Able to troubleshoot work order issues.
  • Print labels for all production lines in operation.
  • Communicate pass-down to the next oncoming shift.
  • Keep a daily log of all LP's issued to pallets including the date, license plate number, number of parts.

Resolve any issues with finished pallets that have been returned from the warehouse due to incorrect information

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications: Must be knowledgeable of the functions of AX system. Must know the quality aspects of a full pallet.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions. Able to learn basic computer entry functions.

Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills and counting ability required.

Reasoning Ability: Must be able to pay close attention to detail, have general deductive reasoning skills to troubleshoot minor issues and knowledge of how and when to escalate. Able to complete reports and paperwork satisfactorily. Able to handle more than one customer's orders at a time. Able to coordinate activities between shipping. Must be able to work without close supervision.
