The Buyer at Sundyne completes the full cycle of procurement for their product from Purchase Orders, Order Acknowledgements, to Shipment tracking and delivery. The Buyer partners and communicates with various internal and external customers to ensure that our manufacturing shop has the product needed to assemble and deliver on our promises to customers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Purchases a broad, highly mixed and/or technical category of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies, which may involve contract negotiations, material deviation, and other complex considerations. Administers and directs orders on a timely and economical basis with the best combination of price, quality, and delivery.

  • Issue requests for quotes (RFQ's) and select best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements

  • Coordinates with manufacturing and production with regard to projected production schedules and purchase order status. Maintains current, accurate, open-order status of purchase orders.

  • Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.

  • Acts as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve commercial related issues.

  • Process non-conforming material

  • Coordinates necessary product specification revisions and deviations as needed with suppliers.

  • Maintain system accuracy, including lead-time, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc.

  • Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.

Skills & Abilities Required

  • Ideal candidate will have relevant experience in Oil and Gas, High mix low volume OEM manufacturing, or precision rotating equipment

  • Understanding of Import and Export INCO terms

  • Ability to respond consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues that may arise

  • Job related experience for 2 - 5 years

  • Understanding of the following areas:

  • Purchasing principles, procedures, nomenclature, and practices o business practices

  • legal practice

  • customer needs and expectations

  • computer system

  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.

  • Ability to negotiate with vendors.

  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer, including spreadsheets, database management, and MRP system.

  • Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, concentrate, and have attention to detail.

  • Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred (Not Required)

  • 2 - 5 years of related procurement experience including purchasing, inventory control, and supplier relationships

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $55K - $75K (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
