Network Engineer / Architect
Location: On-Site, Boulder, CO (supporting a federal client) **Proposal Effort**
Clearance Requirement: Active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one through a government background investigation.
Salary Range: $165,000 to $190,000

The Opportunity
We're seeking a skilled Network Architect to design, optimize, and secure the critical networks that power our client's mission. In this role, you'll be the visionary behind complex network infrastructures - ensuring seamless connectivity, top-notch security, and scalable growth. What You'll Do
- Design and manage robust network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud networks.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and optimize network performance.
- Plan and implement security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Lead upgrades and expansions to ensure networks evolve with organizational needs.
- Monitor performance and conduct audits to maintain reliability and efficiency.
- Align network security practices with organizational security policies and compliance requirements.
- Network Engineer / Architect is a senior role that provides subject matter expertise on network engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with network design, engineering and customer specifications.
- Responsible for design of technical/engineering part of a major project. Demonstrate expert knowledge and experience configuring and operating Network Management solutions. Assist with the design, development, and deployment of fault and performance network management systems that provide the required trouble isolation and identification for the applications.
- Provides expertise on system testing, diagnostics, performance and tuning, acceptance testing and specialized support for LAN/WAN analysis.
- Assist in conducting site surveys, developing, and implementing architectural and engineering plans to prepare a facility for LAN installations. Recommend physical locations, cabling restrictions, and facility constraints of sites.
- Strong subject matter experience in network characteristics analysis, design of network topologies and site configurations, installation, transition, and cutover of network components.
What We're Looking For
- U.S. Citizen, eligible for SECRET clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Network Architect or in senior network engineering roles.
- Deep knowledge of LAN, WAN, and cloud network design and administration.
- Hands-on expertise with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
- Solid problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize complex environments.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
