Introduction:

The IT & AV Architect is responsible for leading the design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation of complex IT and audiovisual (AV) systems. This role supports system development and engineering analysis across multiple technical disciplines, ensuring integration, performance, and compliance with security and accreditation standards. The architect collaborates with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external stakeholders to deliver comprehensive IT/AV solutions aligned with enterprise goals.

This is a proposal-based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Perform advanced architecture work in support of IT/AV system development, engineering analysis, and research.

  • Lead integration of processes and methodologies to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Provide technical leadership in planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of complex IT/AV solutions.

  • Support Authority to Operate (ATO) and system accreditation processes.

  • Advise on planning, directing, and managing IT/AV capabilities and design packages.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation including:

    • Database architecture diagrams

    • Infrastructure schematic drawings

    • Detailed network diagrams

    • Block connect and wireline diagrams

    • Rack elevation diagrams

    • Configuration management plans

  • Manage baseline and future-state stakeholder requirements gathering for IT/AV capabilities in large-scale projects.

  • Utilize software tools such as CAD, Visio, and Bluebeam to support design and documentation efforts.

  • Collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders and executives.

  • Deliver technical demonstrations and presentations to leadership and decision-makers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting Federal Government IT/AV systems.

  • Proven experience in planning, directing, and managing complex IT/AV capabilities and design packages.

  • Strong proficiency in creating technical diagrams and documentation using CAD, Visio, Bluebeam, and similar tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to gather and manage stakeholder requirements across large-scale projects.

  • Experience interpreting and applying industry standards to technical documentation and construction-related materials.

  • Excellent communication skills, including cross-team collaboration and executive-level presentations.

  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Candidates will be required to undergo a polygraph examination post-hire.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications in AV design or IT architecture (e.g., CTS-D, CCNA, TOGAF).

  • Experience with enterprise AV systems integration and networked AV technologies.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks related to IT/AV systems.
