Weapon Systems Solutions Engineer, Mid

The Opportunity:

As a Weapon Systems Solutions Engineer, you have worked with complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to supporting the development and integration of secure systems for USAF air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons. We're looking for a motivated engineer who can use their skills to contribute to the design, development, and integration of complex systems, with a focus on box-level electronics integration, cable design, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) sensor integration, mission planning, and cybersecurity in highly classified environments. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, leveraging advanced technologies to enhance munitions capabilities and support our mission to become the premier technical solutions provider.

On our team, you'll architect and integrate cable assemblies and COTS sensors, driving Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) test campaigns to validate system performance under realistic mission conditions. You'll directly impact USAF air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons effectiveness by delivering real-time sensor fusion, resilient data links, and advanced scene generation for precision targeting. This is a chance to use your experience-based knowledge in interface control documentation, penetration testing, and reverse engineering while broadening your skillset into areas like AI/ML driven modeling and simulation, cloud-based test orchestration, and network collaborative autonomy.

In this role, you'll contribute to the design and integration of advanced USAF weapons systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) lab infrastructure. Your work will span cable assemblies, COTS sensor interfaces, flight motion simulators, anechoic chambers, scene generators and projectors, data links, RF communications, PNT systems, and high-bandwidth real-time interfaces.

You'll support system architecture development through hands-on involvement in cable design, rack-and-stack computing configurations, interface control documentation, facility management, and calibration processes. Your technical leadership will be instrumental in planning and executing HITL and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) test campaigns, leveraging 6-DOF scene generation and sensor fusion to assess system performance under realistic mission conditions.

As part of our cybersecurity-first approach, you'll conduct rigorous testing and validation, perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and lead anti-tamper evaluations to ensure systems meet stringent performance, reliability, and security standards in highly classified environments.

Your insights will shape mission planning from both weapons and aircraft perspectives, guiding trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability assessments to align technical solutions with operational needs. You'll collaborate across disciplines, working closely with partner companies and government clients, while mentoring junior engineers and sharing your expertise in systems engineering and cybersecurity.

You'll also be responsible for preparing detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, security assessments, mission briefs, and program status updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders. With a sharp eye on program cost, schedule, and technical performance, you'll identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.

To stay ahead of the curve, you'll continuously explore emerging technologies like AI/ML, cloud services, data analytics, modeling and simulation, MBSE, and network collaborative autonomy, bringing innovative thinking to every challenge you face.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, weapons integration, or simulation in a defense or aerospace role

  • Experience with DoD simulation environments, including SITL or HITL, such as 6-DOF scene generation and imaging technologies

  • Experience with engineering tools and software, including PENCURV, AFSIM, CAD, MATLAB, or Simulink

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including reverse engineering, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and secure coding practices

  • Knowledge of USAF air-to-ground and air-to-air weapons interfaces, cable design, and COTS sensors

  • Ability to be self-motivated and detail-oriented

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering field

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in project leadership or program management in HITL or weapons systems development

  • Experience with real-time simulations, HITL lab setup, test planning, and evaluation using FMS, RF, PNT, and scene injection equipment

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and network collaborative autonomy

  • Experience with Air Force programs, electro-optics, infrared, radar frequency modeling, and countermeasure analysis

  • Knowledge of AI/ML, cloud computing, data analytics, and MS&A principles

  • Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Master's degree in a STEM field preferred; Doctorate degree in a STEM field a plus

  • Cybersecurity certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP
