The Planning Coordinator will report to the Production Planning Supervisor, and be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating the routing of incoming material to meet production schedules and outgoing products to meet customer delivery dates that utilize rail lines. Investigates shipper complaints regarding lost, damaged or shortages of material or product to determine responsibility and corrective action. Shipments are scheduled ensuring compliance with all rail traffic laws, regulations, and company policy. .
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all plant switch requirements enabling efficient communication to Riceboro Southern Railroad (RSOR).
- Maintain onsite inventory of all rail cars including arrival date and release date. Notify all plant of inbound loads, empty releases and coordinate FIFO.
- Coordinate the effective SNF fleet utilization and dwell time. Maintain control of offsite dwell time to transload facilities. Notify Customer Service Representatives (CSR) as appropriate.
- Responsible for the accuracy of rail billings for switches of outbound loads, diversions, and reconsignments.
- Conduct physical inventory of all rail cars minimum twice weekly.
- Work with RSOR and CSX for problem resolution on critical need material cars and all discrepancies.
- Report all inventories to Purchasing BOL weight versus offloading weight.
- Monitor delays on all railroads. Investigate impact on plant operations and report to appropriate personnel / departments.
- Prepare weekly reports showing location and eta's of shipped product and empty returns by type, monomer, methanol, liquid and solid polymer.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent - or equivalent - Required
EXPERIENCE:
- 4-6 years - rail logistics / planning experience in a manufacturing operations - Required
- Chemical manufacturing experience - Preferred
- General understanding of OTR - Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Microsoft office competency
- ERP experience
- Team and individual leadership, prioritization, trouble-shooting, and motivation
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- A wide degree of creativity and self-direction is required.
