Overview
Honeywell is seeking an RF DMS Engineering Manager to provide essential technical expertise and resources in the replacement and redesign of obsolete RF components across various production lines. This role will include the generation of technical proposals, and the basis of estimates (BOE) specifically related to Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) initiatives. The RF DMS Engineering Manager will also oversee, and coordinate work activities associated with the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and activities. In this position, you will facilitate collaboration among development, process, and manufacturing engineering teams throughout the Honeywell Lifecycle Management process, ensuring the successful integration of redesigned products into production. You will participate in reviewing engineering designs, contributing critical insights on technical, quality, and manufacturing requirements and considerations. Managing and facilitating all processes of engineering activities is another essential aspect of this role, as it involves ensuring that all relevant manufacturing areas remain focused on value-added work. Additionally, you will promote the best practices and methodologies in alignment with established business objectives, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering operations.
Responsibilities
- Leadership in Obsolescence Management: Provide focused leadership in identifying and mitigating obsolescence risks. This responsibility includes not only immediate responses to obsolescence notices but also the continuous evaluation of components that may soon become obsolete.
- Component Analysis and Verification: Responsible for identifying suitable replacement part for obsolete components and performing the necessary analysis and verification processes to ensure that the selected components meet all requirements for performance and reliability, thereby maintaining product integrity.
- Support for Production Lifecycles: Address other production technical issues that arise during the product lifecycle.
- Supply Continuity Management: Actively work with the supply chain team to secure and establish reliable sources for components necessary for ongoing and future RF projects.
- Facilitation of Manufacturing Processes: Facilitate the implementation of robust, cost-effective processes and ensure that product structures align with standard operational methods.
- Leadership and Team Direction: Lead and direct the day-to-day activities of the design and manufacturing engineering team. This role includes promoting quality achievements and performance improvements across the organization, fostering a culture of excellence in all engineering practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Proactively communicate with these groups to ensure workgroup, project, or process goals are met effectively, thus facilitating a collaborative working environment.
- Engineer Mentorship and Development: Facilitate the professional growth of the entry or intermediate level engineers and those in production engineering roles interested in RF design and development careers.
- Advanced RF/Microwave Design: Lead the design and development of complex RF/Microwave circuits, including amplifiers, mixers, switches, filters, and oscillators, using advanced simulation and modeling techniques, in adherence to HONEYWELL Design Guidelines.
- Complex System Analysis: Conduct and oversee comprehensive multistage cascade analyses, ensuring optimal performance of complex RF systems.
- Test and Validation Leadership: Define test strategies, generate test procedures, conduct thorough circuit and reliability analysis, and provide guidance during testing and optimization of prototype circuits and components.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with mechanical engineers, designers, and product engineers to ensure seamless integration of electronic designs, overseeing mechanical design and drawing packages.
- Support production line with testing and troubleshooting to meet delivery commitments.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or physics, coupled with 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing advanced microwave and millimeter-wave subsystems and components.
- 10+ years of proven experience utilizing linear simulation tools (e.g., ADS, Microwave Office) and EM simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, Sonnet) or similar industry-standard software.
- 10+ years of experience using CAD tools (e.g., Draftsight, AutoCAD) for creating detailed engineering designs.
- 3-5 years of project lead role in handling high-visibility projects.
- 3-5 years hands-on mentorship and coaching skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or physics, coupled with 15+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing advanced microwave and millimeter-wave subsystems and components.
- 15+ years of proven experience utilizing linear simulation tools (e.g., ADS, Microwave Office) and EM simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, Sonnet) or similar industry-standard software.
- 15+ years of experience using drawing CAD tools (e.g., Draftsight, AutoCAD) for creating detailed engineering designs.
- Experience in Spice Modeling.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $205,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
