Accounting Manager

Location: Irwindale, CA Headquarters (Hybrid or Remote)

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives on accuracy, leadership, and making an impact? Rize Credit Union is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our Accounting team and ensure financial reporting excellence that supports our mission and long-term success.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, reconciliations, general ledger, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
  • Partner with the CFO and Finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, NCUA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive process improvements, implement internal controls, and explore automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate across departments to support new initiatives and projects.


What We're Looking For

Experience:



  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 2 years in a supervisory or management role preferred
  • Financial institution/credit union experience preferred


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA preferred.


Skills:



  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and regulatory accounting requirements.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel.
