TDI Technologies, Inc. (TDI) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the design, build, test, and evaluation of electrical power and control systems. The candidate will also bring a strong background in the repair and operation of mechanical systems, providing cross-disciplinary expertise critical to supporting the Land Based Engineering Site (LBES). This position requires a proven leader with strong systems engineering knowledge, the ability to manage projects effectively, and the desire to mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of electrical power and control systems for Navy land-based and shipboard platforms.
  • Provide technical oversight of installation, commissioning, and system integration activities.
  • Support test and evaluation (T&E) of power, propulsion, and control systems at LBES, ensuring compliance with Navy standards and contract requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for complex electrical and mechanical system issues.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to develop requirements, specifications, and interface documents.
  • Collaborate with project managers, program teams, and government stakeholders to ensure technical success and project alignment.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations, and design documentation to Navy customers.
  • Support proposal development, design reviews, and program milestones.
  • Perform site visits and shipboard travel as required to support installations, inspections, and testing.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in the design, build, and test of electrical power and control systems.
  • 20+ years of experience in repair and operation of mechanical systems.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of systems engineering principles and techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, manage time effectively, and oversee technical execution.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (required at time of hire).

Desired:

  • Experience with U.S. Navy shipboard power and propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with Navy standards, specifications, and certification processes.
  • Strong background in test planning, test execution, and data analysis.
  • Ability to interface effectively with senior government and industry stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to take on additional leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Primary work performed onsite at LBES with flexible remote options as approved.
  • Travel may be required to shipyards, fleet concentration areas, and vendor sites in support of testing, installations, and inspections.
  • Must be able to work in industrial, laboratory, and shipboard environments as required.
