Pay Range - $22.22 - $25.00 per hour (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)


Engineering Technician 2 (TPH3222)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Works under general supervision to provide a variety of support to production, quality, and engineering teams. This role will be responsible for the improvement and implementation of procedures throughout the plants and will be involved in testing, implementation and scoping of projects, and ones that require the use of independent judgment in determining a course of action. This position will assist with the setup of new production systems and may train machinists, operators and inspectors. The Engineering Technician must have strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of a variety of machining processes.

REQUIREMENTS

AA or AS degree highly preferred, high school diploma required
Requires 2+ yrs of related experience or equivalent combination of education in science, math, or engineering and experience, preferably in a manufacturing/production environment.
Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal as well as written instructions in English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure including common and decimal fractions.
Ability to use a microscope, depending on the specific function.
Ability to read blueprints/mechanical drawings, depending on the specific function.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.

Ability to program, troubleshoot, operate, maintain, repair, and PM Equipment with a focus on test equipment and data analysis. Perform special projects. 20/20 corrected vision - varies by division
Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel.
Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop.
Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
Ability to manage projects and follow through on process improvement procedures.
Intermediate computer skills including typing, excel and outlook.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Documents, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture of final product.
  2. Establishes process and builds prototype level products to ensure customer quality and delivery requirements. May oversee the starting, running, and upgrading of manufacturing processes to maximize productivity without sacrificing quality requirements.
  3. Creates work instructions and other associated process documentation following documented procedures.
  4. Performs analytical and diagnostic engineering tests. Establishes parameters for a DOE or other problem solving tools to define root cause.
  5. Visually inspects parts at required steps in the process with attention to detail, ensuring the parts are within specified tolerances. May disposition of reject parts.
  6. Performs complex maintenance, set-up and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsibilities may include the programming or calibration of equipment.
  7. May assist with managing onsite repairs or sub-contractors.
  8. Analyzes problems and addresses RCCAAs using intuitive and analytical methods such as 8-D & 5 Why Analyses.
  9. Takes ownership of smaller projects and managing of results from cradle with guidance from Engineering team or supervisor.
  10. Works directly with, and may train other manufacturing employees (operators, inspectors, and machinists) on the production floor.
  11. May check the work of lower level technicians and operators. May inspect parts as needed.
  12. Evaluates designs and processes; makes improvements or recommendations for improvement.
