Duties:
* Responsible for the supervision of work and day-to-day activities of a team of electrical development engineers.
* Report status of project work, maintain accurate schedules for projects, and ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.
* Responsible for understanding and applying standard engineering principles, creating simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs, and testing how the system operates compared to project scope.
* Monitor quality of product design release from engineering.
* Design, model, and test control systems to allow refuse collection vehicles to collect, store, and process refuse as required by customer specifications.
* Create and read program flow logic diagrams.
* Create program simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and how the machine operates with controls.
* Conduct system monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting operational problems.
* Control multiple sensors and devices over a CAN network.
* Develop HMI programs to customer specifications.
* Test and integrate electrical components into control systems to produce final products.
* Investigate root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
* Remotely support field technicians to program, repair, and troubleshoot customer units.
* Create and maintain documentation including functional specifications, user manuals, and technical diagrams to support the development, integration, and operation of PLC programs.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Domestic travel required up to 25%.
Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in an Electrical Development Engineering Supervisor -related occupation.
Of the required experience, must have five (5) years of experience in all of the following:
* PLC program logic using Ladder Logic, function blocks, and Structured Text.
* Designing electrical schematics.
* Electrical component testing and evaluation
* CAN communication programming protocols.
Of the required experience, must have three (3) years of experience in all of the following:
* Developing or troubleshooting, and /or maintaining integration of chassis control systems.
* Supervision or Lead engineer for electrical engineering.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Domestic travel required up to 25%.
