GENERAL FUNCTION:

Leverages the experience gained as Analyst I-II to provide a deep understanding and knowledge of corporate finance with the ability to perform a wide range of complex analytical, valuation and financial modeling analysis with minimal over sight and supervision. Requires the ability to move beyond the initial processing of information to applying the information to meet specific client needs. Assumes responsibility for driving the pitch origination as well as managing deal execution for engaged transactions along with the senior members of the team. Provides oversight, training and development of junior analysts in the group. Exhibits strong work ethic and is proactive in assuming additional responsibilities. Excels in providing detail oriented transaction support and gains transaction and market knowledge required for development into an Associate role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform detailed valuation analyses and utilize the data to assess and provide recommendations around a client's strategic alternatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of the concepts of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets and credit needed to provide expert support transactions.
  • Build and understand complex company financial models and independently analyze performance and credit trends to provide recommendation that support advisory and capital raise opportunities.
  • Exhibit high attention to detail and discipline to check work to produce error free and properly formatted work on a consistent basis.
  • Analyze a client's strategic objectives and prepare high quality presentation materials that support a recommendation covering a broad array of topics including strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance.
  • Participate and provide day-to-day transaction leadership in the origination and execution of investment banking deals including M&A advisory, debt and equity transactions including the ability to put together marketing CIMs and analyzing industry segments.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage advisory execution with independence and knowledge of the full process.
  • Manage increasing deal and marketing related priorities while working on a number of high priority opportunities simultaneously with minimal oversight.
  • Anticipate client and deal team requirements and proactively communicate priorities and status on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Develop good working relationships with peers and seniors in Capital Markets and the rest of the organization.
  • Take on added responsibility to train, develop and mentor junior bankers and provide feedback in a constructive manner.
  • Proactively seek to take on additional marketing and transaction responsibilities.
  • Develop an understanding of the underlying trends that affect the debt, equity and M&A capital markets and begin to apply knowledge to deliver innovative client solutions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of industry developments and trends and supporting analysis and begin to apply that knowledge to the team's specific client opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and analysis in a client setting.
  • Provide leadership in administrative areas that enhance group effectiveness including recruiting, training of junior analysts, industry and market newsletters, among other areas.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 2-3 years of investment banking and/or capital markets experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance or Accounting and 3.5 GPA preferred.
  • Exhibit strong work ethic and passion for excellence while conducting self in a professional manner.
  • Ability to excel in both team and self-directing settings.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical skills and good working knowledge of financial modeling.
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79,63 license required
Senior Analyst, Investment Banking Total Base Pay Range 69,800.00 - 143,100.00 USD Annual
