We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Supervisor of Financial Reporting to oversee a team responsible for preparing and distributing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both internal stakeholders and external reporting requirements. This role provides technical expertise in GAAP and SEC reporting, and acts as the primary point of contact with external auditors. The Supervisor collaborates closely with colleagues and management across various departments to ensure effective coordination of reporting activities. Responsibilities:
  • Supervises a team responsible for preparing and distributing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal stakeholders and for external reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies, SEC regulations, and GAAP standards.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with external auditors, coordinating audit requests and facilitating the audit process.
  • Applies a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry and company operations to analyze and interpret financial performance and results.
  • Communicates and presents financial analysis and reporting in clear, accessible language for a variety of audiences.
  • Independently applies advanced accounting principles, theories, and concepts to tasks such as financial statement review, analysis, and interpretation, ensuring high levels of accuracy and productivity.
  • Collaborates with peers and management across departments to enhance communication and improve overall accounting processes and efficiencies.
  • Oversees the preparation of consolidated financial reports for senior management and business unit leaders and provides ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Reviews press releases and operational reports as part of the quarterly and annual reporting cycles and provides financial information to investor relations as needed.
  • Maintains and enforces systems of internal control to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or any other related discipline.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with supervisory experience, preferably in areas such as Public Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Oil and Gas Accounting.
Certifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred).
