Inside the Role Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June. Transmission and Axle Production Department Overview: The Transmission and Axle Production department is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale metrics for the production for 3 different axle production lines, 1 transmission production line, 5 test benches. The intern would support in continuous improvement activities as they relate to production support in the Transmission and Axle Business. Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability. Developing flexible manpower plans to support varying shift models. Support special projects as required Assist in driving the digitalization efforts in the department, coordinating with the Tech Lab to develop visualization tools to quickly troubleshoot and improve business KPIs. Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs Knowledge You Should Bring Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June) Pursuing degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing engineering, or Operations Management preferred Knowledge of process mapping/value stream mapping Curious and inquisitive with a "go and see" mentality Sense of Urgency Ability to work in an industrial/plant environment and follow safety standards. Be comfortable with the ambiguity and ongoing change of daily production. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
