Overview
Quality Manager In this role, you will provide leadership of MEC's Quality Systems and team. This is a great position for a change agent who has a passion for driving quality improvements to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. MEC's Quality Manager will take an active role in leading the Quality Engineering activities that meet and exceed our customer requirements.

Lead and support the activities of the plant in the development and improvement of MEC Quality Management system, which at a minimum will meet the requirements of ISO9001:2008, ISO14001:2015 and IATF.
- Plan, develop, implement, train and assess the effectiveness of MEC's quality systems to improve internal and outgoing product quality that will achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction.
- Interact with all functional areas in the company to assure seamless processes are in place that are effective and efficient to meet the quality standards and expectations set by the customer.
- Develop quality metrics to access and assure processes are not only in compliance but also functioning as planned.
- Take an active role in identifying quality issues, non-conformances and leads corrective action of those issues ensuring that quality meets or exceeds customer requirements.
- Function as the Product Safety Champion, and stop shipments of unsafe product, or recommend changes to Engineering where customer or consumer protection is needed.
- Able to lead, develop and direct a cross functional team of Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors.
- Effectively analyze data and drive issues to root cause.
- Proficient in using excel and power point.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus.
- Responsible for the audit function and leads efforts to achieve compliance with any new quality standards that new and existing customers require.
- Lead all internal and external audits to ensure compliance to IATF TS16949 standards.
- Have knowledge on the IATF standards and have worked with Registrars.
- Support ISO 14001 audits and ensure compliance to standard.
- Lead monthly quality management reviews at the plant and weekly meetings with your team.
- Work directly with customers and present quality data, describe root causes, understand our manufacturing processes, and communicate effective plans.
- Responsible for initiating corrective actions (CAR's) both internally and externally for our suppliers.
- Work effectively across cross functional teams and support the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.

Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in quality engineering or engineering
Experience Requirements
- 7-10 years in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing company related to contract manufacturing, metal fabrication, welding, assembly and/or finish paint.
- CQE, experience in quality management systems and processes.
- Experience with quality improvement tools (Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), project management, facilitation skills and problem solving, effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Quality Team leader experience working within a matrixed organization.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Some physical demand often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
