DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY Senior buyer and a relationship builder for Pride suppliers, supporting the purchasing of parts, subassemblies and services for various production requirements and customers of the Purchasing Department RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES *Maintain daily and weekly models used for the purchasing of parts for the divisions assigned *Maintain communication with vendors to ensure all delivery and quality requirements are met *Provide daily assistance to other members of the Purchasing Team as well as the domestic Manufacturing Team *Consistently look to drive inventory costs down wherever possible *Analyze market conditions, keep abreast of trends, explore sources of supply, study new products, and research departmental requests for all products and commodities *Process requisitions and make group purchases to secure price advantages of quantity buying *Solicit bids and compare and analyze price quotations *Analyze cost improvements within Supply Chain and recommend possible improvements to increase cost efficiency *Study the quality of products to determine appropriate vendors, negotiate and renew contracts, investigate vendor complaints regarding product, secure adjustments and follow up on deliveries *Become a mentor to the Buyer/Planners within the Purchasing Team *Work independently and make sound business decisions *Monitor inventory on a consistent basis and find ways to reduce on-hand costs where possible *Interact daily with Manufacturing and Parts Shipping Team Leads to support their needs *Travel domestically as business needs dictate *Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management *Complete the Annual CTPAT Security Training *Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment *Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations *Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary REQUIRED SKILLS Must be a team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and honest Must have the ability to: *Multi-task, problem-solve, analyze, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment *Travel domestically as business needs dictate Must have: *Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement *Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel *Intermediate mathematical and analytical skills *Excellent negotiating skills *Excellent verbal and written communication skills REQUIRED EXPERIENCE *At least 5 years of purchasing experience in the field of quantity buying of end items, services, supplies and equipment in a manufacturing environment PREFERRED EXPERIENCE *At least 1 year of experience in an international purchasing environment preferred *At least 1 year of experience with consignment programs preferred *At least 1 year of experience as a Buyer/Planner II with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred REQUIRED EDUCATION *High School Diploma or GED PREFERRED EDUCATION *Associate degree in Business or a related field preferred REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS *Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future DETAILS *This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive *In exceptional circumstances, some of the physical requirements of this position may be modified or eliminated as a reasonable accommodation for a person with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act Pride Mobility Products/Quantum Rehab is an Equal Opportunity employer.
