Job Description
The Director of Disaster Recovery will lead Quest's enterprise-wide Disaster Recovery (DR) and Cyber Recovery programs, providing strategic direction, governance, and execution oversight. This role is accountable for designing and maintaining resilient recovery frameworks that ensure rapid restoration of critical business services following a disruptive event. Position may be based in Norristown, PA, Secaucus, NJ, Wood Dale, IL, Dallas, TX, Kansas City, KS.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Program Development
- Develop, execute, and continuously evolve the enterprise-wide DR strategy aligned with Business Continuity, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and cybersecurity goals.
- Serve as a liaison between Technology, cybersecurity, ERM, and business units to ensure alignment of recovery priorities.
Cyber Recovery Capabilities
- Lead the Cyber Recovery Program.
- Collaborate with IT Security, IT Infrastructure, and application teams to ensure cyber recoverability is embedded across critical systems.
- Evaluate and recommend cyber recovery solutions and technologies that support ransomware protection and rapid data restoration.
Operational Management
- Oversee DR and cyber recovery readiness exercises across the enterprise, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Develop RTO and RPO in partnership with business and technical stakeholders.
- Manage DR-related incidents and lead post-incident reviews to strengthen response and recovery practices.
- Respond to internal and external audit inquiries.
Leadership and Communication
- Lead a team of DR professionals and support teams; provide mentorship and performance oversight.
- Deliver executive-level and C-level reporting and recommendations on DR and cyber recovery readiness, risks, and investment needs.
- Champion a culture of resilience and awareness throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
Required WorkExperience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT Disaster Recovery
- Proven experience building and managing enterprise DR programs and leading cross-functional teams.
- Direct experience with implementing cyber recovery capabilities, such as isolated recovery environments and immutable storage.
- Strong understanding of DR planning methodologies (e.g., BIA, risk assessment, failover testing).
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO 22301, FFIEC, or other regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- Experience in Business Continuity
- Experience in Cybersecurity.
- Cloud recovery and hybrid infrastructure experience.
