Responsibilities
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7- 17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility. Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center currently has a Full-time Human Resources Generalist position available. The HRG role will support all functions of the HR Department, as needed. Position Description: The Human Resources Generalist will provide essential support within the HR Department, which includes acting as the primary super user for the HRIS platforms, ensuring that clinical/nursing staff credentials (licenses, competencies, etc.) are verified, facilitating new hire orientations and overseeing the onboarding process, ensuring that performance check-ins are completed, mediating employee relations issues and assisting with investigations, overseeing personnel records processes to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (DOE, Joint Commission, etc.), tracking and drafting progressive discipline action documents (termination letters), ensuring that employment hearing documentation is submitted timely, facilitate Service Excellence Meetings, and staying abreast with HR policies and all regulatory requirements for personnel files. This position will work closely with HR colleagues (HRG and HR Assistant) to ensure that HR processes are efficient and effective and will be a trusted advisor to all staff. Candidates with additional educational background (i.e. SHRM training or certification) are preferred. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in human resources, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital HR department.
