SUMMARY

Works closely with Assistant District Attorneys in the collection, preservation, documentation, and production of materials necessary for criminal prosecution.


*Position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Request and obtain materials needed in connection with the prosecution of criminal cases, referred to as "discovery," from any agency that possesses this material.
  • Prepare and file official charging documents referred to as criminal "Bills of Information" using Prosecution Management System and AOPC portal.
  • Produce and document production of discovery and plea offer made by the assigned prosecutor to defense attorney of record.
  • Print and mail all victims' rights notification and restitution paperwork to crime victims.
  • Process and copy for production audio/video files or electronic device downloads, including dash and body camera footage.
  • Redact discovery using Adobe in accordance with legal and confidentiality guidelines and the office redaction policy.
  • Utilize databases to collect and input information necessary for the prosecution of criminal cases.
  • Achieve JNET certification.
  • Verifying status for Persons not to Possess firearms.
  • Obtain criminal and driving histories (in state or out of state).
  • Utilize Commander Software to interface with township Record Management Systems and Axon
  • Navigate and process evidence from drop box/share point cloud databases utilized by 53 township police departments.
  • Assist assigned Assistant District Attorneys with any other investigative/administrative tasks related to the collection, production, and documentation of discovery (depending on the request from the ADA).
