PURPOSE:

The position will be responsible for the design and development of MEMS probe solutions for test applications across high-performance computing, mobile, and automotive products. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and FEA, as well as experience with MEMS technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for MEMS probe design, simulation and test for next generation products
  • Drive probe reliability and performance validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of probes into products
  • Support probe/product customer qualification and field issue analysis
  • Document design, modeling and testing processes


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, MEMS or a related engineering field. Ph.D. preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, simulation, and test. MEMS design experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and FEA. SolidWorks and ANSYS experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of thermo-mechanical design principles, mechanical materials and thermal properties
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills



The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $136,200 and $178,815. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. Benefits offered for this role include medical, dental, vision, EAP, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending and savings accounts, 401(k), ESPP and paid time off.
