 POSITION SUMMARYAssistant in the JJC Fitness Center, Activity Class Instructor
 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1.Receive and respond to messages and questions from current and prospective students.
 2.Maintain cleanliness in the Fitness Center, classrooms, and equipment.
 3.Wash, dry, and fold Fitness Center workout and shower towels.
 4.Participate in department and college goals and objectives.
 5.Perform related duties as assigned.
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1.High school diploma or equivalent.
 2.Ability to prioritize assignments and to work in a very busy, positive, fun and loud environment.
 3.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
 4.Must be friendly, honest, positive, outgoing individual who enjoys working with students.
 5.AED/CPR current Certification current or completed upon hiring.
 6.Basic computer skills.
 7.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1.College Degree
 2.Personal Trainer Certification
 3.Experience with leading/developing group exercise classes for Fitness Center participants
 4.Certification in various activities, Spinning, Yoga, Aerobics.
 5.Experience with police POWER testing assessments.
 6.English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
 7.Demonstrated multicultural competence.
  WORK SCHEDULE
 Monday through Friday:7:00am- 7:00pmSaturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm
 Schedule determined on a semester basisApproximately 20 hours/week
 PHYSICAL DEMANDS1.Fitness Center/Physical Education environment and equipment.
 WORKING CONDITIONS1.Requires manual skill to appropriately control and manipulate objects, tools, materials, and equipment used on the job, including a telephone and a computer.
