The Coordinator serves as a primary liaison between the educational directors in the department and the various schools. The Coordinator schedules all APP students, Medical Students and Residents in the Emergency Departments and Ambulatory clinic sites. The Coordinator also serves as the project coordinator and primary contact for the department's Emergency Medicine Certificate Program ("EMCP").

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

    1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.

    2. West Virginia state criminal background check, and federal, if applicable, required for DHHR regulated area.

    EXPERIENCE:

    1. 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Healthcare, Administration, or related field strongly preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    1. 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant strongly preferred.

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.     1. Coordinates MS3 Rotations and MS4 clerkships in accordance to LCME guidelines.

    2. Develops, maintains, and revises all student/learner rotation schedules including, but not limited to: orientation, clinic, call, lectures, student tours, and teaching attending for the Emergency Medicine Clerkship.

    3. Organizes EM student/learner rotations, prepares files, evaluations, and student orientation packets.

    4. Prepares and proctors examinations and mid-block reviews for students in Emergency Medicine Clerkship rotations.

    5. Maintains Emergency Medicine SOLE and E-Value sites.

    6. Coordinates department visiting professor/instructor lectureships in accordance to ACCME standards.

    7. Creates visiting professor itinerary, orders posters and flyers for event.

    8. In conjunction with department representative for honorarium, follows CME guidelines and obtains CME signatures.

    9. Coordinates and supports Summer Preceptorship Program.

    10. Assists in the method of reviewing and approving medical student electives, clerkship activities, and programs.

    11. Assists with the re-accreditation process; complete the application in concert with the department's Clerkship Director, review program files, and attend the re-accreditation survey.

    12. Coordinates and schedules all resident, medical student and APP student rotations in the ambulatory clinics.

    13. Reviews applications to ensure requirements are met.

    14. Assists with registration/follows up with students.

    15. Tracks enrollment for reports to the Dean's Office and Registrar's Office.

    16. Works alongside Academic Innovations.

    17. Coordinates courses with Academic Innovations.

    18. Coordinates and travels for EMCP recruitment.

    19. Upon graduation, works with WVU Office of Registrar, to ensure delivery of graduate certificates.

    20. Works alongside Department of Continuing Education to access Continuing Medical Education credits for students.

    3. Must be able to work independently and guide others.

    4. Must be able to travel to off-site WVU campus, Emergency Medicine locations, and out of state conferences
