Job Description

MURR is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Reactor Operations Clerk to provide critical administrative and regulatory support to the Reactor Operations department. This position plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements, supporting reactor operator licensing, and ensuring the integrity of operational records and procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage sensitive materials, and communicate effectively with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Support & Communication:

  • Prepare, review, and submit official regulatory documents such as NRC Forms 396 & 398, SARs, Tech Specs, Emergency Plans.
  • Maintain compliance records and assist with updates to the Physical and Transportation Security Plans.
  • Coordinate communication with the NRC and other regulatory bodies; serve as a facility notary public.

Meeting & Committee Support:

  • Organize meetings for the Reactor Advisory Committee and subcommittees, including scheduling, preparing agendas, assembling documentation, and recording minutes.
  • Ensure technical specifications are understood and followed in committee operations.

Licensing & Operator Programs:

  • Manage tracking systems for licensed reactor operator physical and licensing/requalification exams.
  • Maintain accurate records in proprietary software such as MAXIMO and eLogger.

Emergency Preparedness & Fuel Reporting:

  • Support emergency drills and maintain the emergency notification roster.
  • Handle documentation for new and spent fuel transactions and semi-annual special nuclear material (SNM) inventories.

Program Audits & Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct audits and assist in corrective action tracking and documentation for various compliance programs.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to federal regulations and MURR's internal policies.

Administrative & Document Control:

  • Maintain physical and electronic records, revise procedures and preventive maintenance documentation.
  • Issue, track, and maintain printed materials and controlled manuals.
  • Process purchases and coordinate interview logistics for Reactor Operations staff recruitment.
  • Support internal systems for electronic signature routing and deviation tracking.

Must be available for reliable and consistent onsite work.

Shift

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., variable (to be discussed at interview)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Salary Range: $18.87 - 34.87 per hour
