Quality Assurance Supervisor Overview: Supervises the Quality Team, including Quality Technicians across four shifts, as well as the GP12 staff. Help to ensure proper application of customer and internal quality specifications for the purpose of evaluating glass conditions. Serves as a first contact in support of the disposition of suspect quality product. Confirms QA Tech and GP-12 documentation is collected and maintained for shipment/release authorization. Ensures tracking of QA Tech and GP-12 outputs, such as timecards, vacation, performance reviews, counselling, etc., are maintained as part of the QA office records.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the oversight of the workflow of the quality techs and GP12 operations
  • Create and promote a safe and positive team culture
  • Development and training of QA hourly employees
  • Containment and follow-up to internal or external non-conformances
  • Tracking and documentation of important quality outputs, such as reinspection results, dock audit results, and QA Tech. testing results, and non-conforming conditions
  • Responsible for scheduling coverage of the QA Technicians on each shift
  • Effective communication with the QA Manager and Value Stream Managers where suspect product is involved
  • Support and document the standardization of work
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and appropriate follow-up
  • Tracking and controlling the hold cage inventory
  • Support SOR process with resource assignment and pack-out strategies


KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, COURSES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • Experience in leading a team of people with proven results
  • Ability to drive safety as a priority and meet team goals
  • Interact effectively with others throughout the organization as well as with suppliers, customers, and technical support.
  • Ability and interest to understand processes, interpret data, analyze cause and effect, apply knowledge to new situations, and learn continuously.
  • Must be able to embrace changing priorities and complete work efficiently and on time.
  • Strong computer skills are essential.
  • Must be accurate and timely with information/deliverables
  • Requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude and problem-solving
  • Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization
  • Must be willing to assist in other roles as called upon or needed
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and Word required


Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize computerized production management and ERP systems


Qualifications:


We are looking for a strong people leader who combines solid manufacturing knowledge, team-building skills, and the ability to assess priorities and act decisively within a fast-paced, demanding environment. It is also important that you display excellent communication and interpersonal skills



  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a relevant degree is highly preferred
  • Candidates with at least 3 years' experience in supervision are required
  • Manufacturing experience is required, and automotive experience is a plus
  • Schedule flexibility
