   Position SummaryThe College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks a qualified candidate to teach as full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Psychology. This position is a 9-month residential appointment and campus presence is required. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications begins immediately; the position will remain open until filled.
 Preferred start date is January 2026, but August 2026 start date can be considered.
 
   Requirements
  
 
   Duties and Responsibilities: 
    Areas of special teaching interests may include (but are not limited to): developmental, applied (behavioral/industrial-organizational), health, environmental, forensic/legal, neuroscience, social/cultural, and/or counseling/clinical psychology.4/4 teaching load, scholarship, and serviceTeaching load will include 1000- and 2000-level lower-division Psychology courses, in addition to a variety of upper-division courses (may be offered as in-person, hybrid, or online)Serve the institution and remain active in the profession by maintaining a consistent record of scholarly research that includes publications and presentations in peer-reviewed venuesMentorship of student research 
 Minimum Job Requirements:
 Ph.D. in Psychology required. (ABD considered if Ph.D. is in hand by start date.)

    Academic advising and mentoring of students Possess a strong generalist academic background and commitment to teaching excellenceExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to collaboration and working as a part of a team to visualize, plan, deliver, assess, and redirect programs as neededResearch program development that can support the mentorship of undergraduate students in research endeavors Experience teaching in online and/or hybrid settings

   Physical Demand and Working Conditions: 
    Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Essential Functions:
