Job Summary: This position is an entry level position that will introduce individuals to the essential duties of a Production Kitter. The primary focus will be supporting production by staging materials, maintaining inventory, improving organization, and learning how to support multiple production areas. This is a hands-on, cross-functional training role intended to build skills across departments and prepare the trainee for long-term success within the company. Primary Responsibilities: Under supervision and with guidance from leadership, the Trainee will learn and assist with the following tasks:
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required. Essential Skills: Subject Matter Exposure. Computer Literate. Inspecting and Examining Ability. Mechanical Dexterity. Mechanical Aptitude. Housekeeping. Adaptability. Positive Attitude. Work Environment: The employee is frequently exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to operate foot control while standing on one leg. Job Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and follow instructions, and read work orders. Must be able to obtain a forklift certificate within 6 months of hire. Preferred: Experience in kitting, stockroom, or inventory work within a manufacturing environment. At Fike, our people are our strength.
