Devon Energy is seeking a Business Intelligence & Analytics Team Lead to oversee reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives supporting both finance/accounting and non-financial areas (such as production operations). This role will lead a cross-functional team, manage operational excellence, and drive continuous improvement across diverse datasets and business domains. Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including on-shore and off-shore resources. Manage daily, weekly, and monthly operational tasks: validations, reconciliations, incident management, change management, peer/code reviews, user provisioning, and access management. Support both financial (finance/accounting) and non-financial (e.g., production operations/BIOps tabular) business areas. Prepare and deliver communications for releases, outages, and incident root cause analysis. Research and resolve complex data and system issues; lead root cause analysis and document findings. Support application upgrades, cloud migrations, and coordinate knowledge transfer sessions. Prioritize and coordinate work across multiple projects and operational support activities. Adapt to ad-hoc requests and changing business priorities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field. 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or other business intelligence roles. 2+ years in a team lead or supervisory capacity. Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliation spreadsheets and headcount file preparation. Strong financial acumen with understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and incident/change management processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency with business intelligence and analytics tools (MSFT SSAS, Oracle Essbase, OneStream, Snowflake, Alation). Experience with SAP and familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools. Experience supporting non-financial business areas (e.g., production operations/BIOps tabular datasets). Experience preparing communications for end-users, management, and technical teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
