Material Handler

Scope:

Responsible for storage and issuance of raw materials and finished parts, ensuring the stable flow of materials in the Stockroom, Assembly Departments and Fabrication. Working in compliance with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving the making of minor decisions.

Assembly Essential Duties:

• Operator will perform material handling procedures in a safe and effective manner operating motorized forklifts throughout factory to move materials from staged / receiving areas to storage or point-of-use locations as needed.

• Includes the unloading of delivery trucks (common carriers / box trucks), flat beds or other delivery trucks.

• Handling sheet metal, organizing materials in designated staging or storage locations and racks.

• Unloading / dumping scrap hoppers as needed throughout the factory.

• Organizing and cleaning of outside storage locations as needed to keep a clean and orderly facility.

• Operator will perform inventory control as it relates to the position.

• Operator will assist / load equipment as needed to ship finished goods to customer.

• Maintain and submit accurate production paperwork (as it relates to the position).

• Complete quality assurance inspection and in-process paperwork.

• Maintain the equipment and facility as directed by immediate supervisor following prescribed safety procedures and processes. Notify supervisor, cell leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, or documentation.
