Waymo Operations exists to deliver the Waymo Driver to the world. We are a global team building and scaling the world's first and leading autonomous fleet and operations platform. You will:





    • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses with internal partners and stakeholders that translates data into actionable insights for fleet health metrics across multiple markets. Additionally work with fleet tooling and data science teams to evolve data signal availability and define metrics calculations
    • Deliver recurring reports on fleet performance against availability targets, report on progress against issue resolution paths, and escalate findings to cross-functional Engineering and Operations teams as needed
    • Drive corrective actions by establishing process, policy, and technical functionality requirements which mitigates scaled risk, reduces disruption, prevents issue recurrence, and ensures resilient fleet operations
    • Analyze end-to-end capability recovery metrics, generate reports of offline time attribution, and drive cross functional technical and operational improvement efforts


    • Travel to operational regions to perform fleet inspections, verify technical and operational interdependencies are met to ensure fleet online rate
    • Foster highly collaborative cross-functional relationships with operations, engineering, and external suppliers, to ensure consistent and effective issue response strategies





You have:



  • A B.A., B.S. and/or an automotive technology degree.
  • 3+ years experience in automotive service, fleet management, and/or automotive technology development
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and facilitate technical root cause analysis initiatives along side engineering partners


  • Strong competency with Google Workspace tools or equivalent (word processing, spreadsheets, slide decks)


  • Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation and presentation skills, facilitating clear and open communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization with a proven ability to influence large cross-functional teams



We prefer:



  • Diagnostic troubleshooting experience with HV, CAN, Flexray, LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension
  • Technical understanding of complex automotive and autonomous driving systems as well as systems diagnostics best practices and root cause analysis best practices
  • Experience with Automotive OEM
  • The ability to debug complex electrical, mechanical, optical and software systems
  • Experience with SQL, R, or other data analytics languages
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with and align executive stakeholders across a diverse geographic and functional landscape



Travel Requirements: There may be some cross functional requests to travel to the other locations. In the end there will be one of these roles in each of the core locations. We want them all to function in the same way.

The expected hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
