Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Supervises staff assigned to the work unit and monitors employees productivity and quality.
  • Ensures proper staffing levels are maintained.
  • Develops and implements scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Resolves scheduling conflicts and issues.
  • Provides training and guidance to scheduling staff.

Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Nursing, preferred.

Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-disciplined projects and the ability to function at a fast pace in a high-energy environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • Working knowledge of mainframe admitting and billing computer systems.
  • Understanding of a managed care environment and its impact on the hospital's bottom line.
  • Strong professional demeanor with the inherent quality to rapidly establish credibility and rapport with clinicians, managers and external groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, identify solutions, plan for and implement those same solutions.

Experience:
  • Management and healthcare experience, required.
  • Nursing/clinical experience, preferred.
  • Two years' experience managing staff, preferred.
