Overview

This position is for a Senior Reg Reporting Analysts within Regulatory Reporting Liquidity team at the First Citizens Bank. The Reg. reporting team is responsible for overall preparation and submission of various reports to the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and state regulators. The Senior Analyst will assist preparation of the Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Report - FR2052a and participate in bank's compliance with FDIC part 370 - Recordkeeping rule initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Reporting Compliance - Ensure documentation and change management approaches are compliant with the proper controls for both automated and manual systems. Reviews and utilizes FinTech expertise to prepare the regulatory report components (Basel III LCR, STWF, etc.) Leads and implements mandated regulatory reporting changes.
  • Regulatory Communications - Participate in working groups and discussion committees to review and approve liquidity regulatory interpretations and perform impact analysis. Monitors and tracks issues to ensure timely and effective resolution. Serves as a point of contact to support audit activities for regulatory examinations as well as internal and external audits.
  • Collaboration - Builds and maintains working relationships with department peers and senior leadership in other enterprise functions to ensure reported data align with regulatory requirements. Builds relationships with other functions, business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), analysts, and developers to collecting data, design solutions, identifying gaps, and apply overall enhancements to liquidity framework.
  • Peer Leadership - Assists management in the onboarding and training of new associates. Mentors less experienced associates, including guidance on daily output and projects.
  • Prepare, analyze, and assist in filing the monthly FR2052a report by applying control checks. Validate consistency of our financials and Balance Sheets with FR2052a report.
  • This role serves as financial-data SME to design US Regulatory Reporting Data controls for multiple consolidated and stand-alone legal entities. Recommends updates and enhancements to maximize efficiencies and accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in GAAP Accounting, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in GAAP Accounting, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting

Preferred Education: Advanced Degree

Preferred Area of Experience: Axiom SL Controller View

License or Certification Type: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Preferred

Skill(s): Understanding of financial products (e.g. loans, securities, derivatives, etc.),

Understanding of regulatory reporting instructions and banking regulations.

Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity.

Ability to read and interpret regulatory guidance and instructions and assess applicability to the Bank, Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and self-motivated problem solver
