Procurement Indirect Category Manager - IT

As a Global Procurement Category Manager for IT, your day revolves around driving value and aligning sourcing strategies with business needs. You work closely with Global IT leaders to support initiatives such as cloud projects, software renewals, and hardware upgrades.

Analyzing spend data is a key part of your work-identifying cost-saving opportunities, contract overlaps, and areas for supplier consolidation. You lead negotiations with major IT suppliers, securing favorable terms and improved service levels while balancing business priorities.

Throughout the day, you collaborate with regional procurement teams to ensure global alignment, while also recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen supplier performance, and reduce risk. In this role, success is about delivering savings, improving supplier relationships, and supporting the company's evolving technology strategy.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Category Leadership - Develop and execute global category strategies for IT, including software licensing, hardware, and managed IT services, ensuring alignment with broader supply chain goals.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management - Lead sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, supplier selection, and performance management for high-impact IT suppliers across multiple regions. Stakeholder Engagement - Partner with business leaders, IT, legal, and finance to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk reduction, and supplier innovation.
  • Team Leadership & Project Management - May lead a team of regional category specialists and serve as project manager on cross-functional procurement initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence - Implement continuous improvement practices to streamline procurement processes, enhance compliance, and support digital transformation goals.


What You Bring:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Work Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or commodity/category management, with at least 2 years of experience developing category strategies.
  • Expertise in IT procurement (software, hardware, SaaS, cloud services, managed services).
  • Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and influence stakeholders across regions and functions.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and project management skills; knowledge of budgeting and cost analysis (e.g., make vs. buy, total cost of ownership).
  • Experience in a global or matrixed organization with exposure to ERP and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa) is highly desirable.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, PMP, ITIL, or Negotiation Training).
  • Experience managing an annual spend portfolio of $75M-$150M.
  • Familiarity with supplier compliance programs, supplier risk frameworks, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Ability to influence global stakeholders and contribute to global procurement councils or strategy boards.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,200 to $179,100 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
